Simon joined Actis in 2006. He is Head of Actis’s Portfolio Group for Africa and Latin America focusing on Actis’s value-add to its portfolio of investee companies. Simon is currently based in the Johannesburg office. Before this position, Simon was based in Lagos as the Head of Actis West Africa from 2006 - 2009.
Prior to Actis, Simon was founder and CEO of Virgin Nigeria, the private sector flag carrier airline for Nigeria. His earlier career was with S.G. Warburg, Boston Consulting Group, British Airways and in various entrepreneurial ventures in Europe and the Middle East.
Simon holds a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford and an MBA from INSEAD in France.
