Biography
Rick is based in Cairo and is responsible for Actis’s activities in Egypt. He joined Actis in 1993 and spent eight years in Africa, making investments in Uganda and Zimbabwe, where he launched a successful private equity fund, Takura Ventures. Rick moved to South East Asia in 2001, where he was responsible for new investment and portfolio management. In 2008, Rick moved to Egypt to head up Actis’s operations in North Africa.
Rick has over 20 years of private equity experience, including 14 years investing in emerging markets. Before he joined Actis, Rick spent six years with 3i Group plc.
Rick holds a first class honours degree in economics from Exeter University.
