Increasing consumption by the growing Chinese middle class has underpinned the expansion of 7 Days Inn. In November 2009, 7 Days Inn began trading on the New York Stock Exchange.

Teknicast is one of Malaysia’s leading manufacturers of aluminium die-casting products. Precision machining enhances the value of Teknicast’s die-cast products and gives them a competitive edge over lower-grade products manufactured elsewhere in Asia. Actis plans to capitalise on its global network and expertise to help Teknicast expand internationally.

 

Umeme is the principal electricity distribution business in Uganda. Umeme operates and maintains the physical distribution system which includes connections to customer premises.

 

Xiabu Xiabu is a Beijing-based hot pot chain with outlets located in office blocks and shopping malls, attracting crowds of white collar diners looking for fresh, healthy food tailored to Chinese tastes. Actis plans to help Xiabu Xiabu expand the business and gain economies of scale by tripling the number of its outlets over the next three years.
