Hossam Abou Moussa
“It’s not easy making deals in our markets; it requires significant relationship management, planning and in many cases going out of your way to make things happen. Nevertheless, I enjoy being on the ground, making a difference, and working with a wonderful team – and for that you can’t find a better place than Actis.”
Living and working in growth markets, Hossam has witnessed the emergence of new middle classes. He realised that experts from firms like Actis were an essential part of helping local business leaders develop the full potential of their businesses in a fast growth economy.
Hossam has over 16 years’ experience in private equity. He joined Actis in 2006, taking on responsibility for originating, executing and managing transactions in the Financial Services and occasionally Industrial and Healthcare sectors in Egypt and North Africa. Before that he worked at EFG-Hermes Private Equity where he was part of an Egypt-focused buyout fund. Hossam is a CFA Charter holder and has an MBA from the University of Oxford and a BA in business administration and finance from the American University in Cairo.
Hossam believes that Actis combines the power and governance of a multinational with local insight and understanding of unique markets. He believes that in Actis he receives the support, flexibility and encouragement needed to ‘make things happen’ in these markets.
