“Private industries have the potential to make an enormous difference to host communities in a sustainable and value enhancing way.“
Carl is an Associate in Actis’ Responsible Investment team. Growing up and working extensively in emerging markets, particularly on the African continent, Carl has seen how private industries can have a huge positive and sustainable impact on host communities and environments. It was the opportunity to influence this impact that drew to him to responsible investment within the emerging markets private equity industry.
Carl joined Actis in 2019 from The Abraaj Group, following Actis’ acquisition of four of The Abraaj Group’s funds. Carl has 12 years’ experience working in the Environmental, Social and Governance field. He began his career in the construction and project management industry, working on large infrastructure projects across Africa before migrating into the private equity, infrastructure and energy development spaces.
