James joined Actis in 2015 following one year working with the team as a consultant.
Prior to joining the Actis Energy team, he spent four years in the investment team at FTSE 250 international private equity investor SVG Capital from 2008 to 2013. He focused on private equity funds, co-investment and secondary investments.
James holds an MSc from Imperial College London in Environmental Technology and Energy Policy, where his dissertation examined the opportunities for commercial and industrial scale solar photovoltaics in Kenya.
He also holds a BA in Mathematics from the University of Oxford.
