“My interest in Africa as an investment destination is driven by my background. I was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya and as a result was constantly exposed to entrepreneurial businesses that seemed highly likely to benefit from institutional capital. I was drawn by the opportunity to transform these loosely managed businesses into more professionalized enterprises through the infusion of capital, improved corporate governance and the discipline to deliver consistent results.
I first joined Actis as a business school intern and was immediately drawn to the team’s collective commitment in helping improve emerging market businesses. My colleagues valued my local knowledge and contact base and provided the perfect environment for my curious and sociable personality. I instantly knew that I wanted to be part of this team and have not been disappointed since.”
