De Zhao is a member of the Long Life Infrastructure team responsible for Southeast Asia as well as the Energy Infrastructure team with a focus on climate transition in Asia.

Prior to joining Actis in 2023, De Zhao spent more than 10 years within the infrastructure investment banking division at Morgan Stanley where he was most recently an Executive Director. During his time at Morgan Stanley, De Zhao led a number of capital raising and M&A transactions across the power, utilities, and cleantech sectors in Asia.

Before Morgan Stanley, De Zhao spent 6 years on a leadership rotation programme with the Government of Singapore where he was involved in public policy analysis and originating foreign direct investments.

De Zhao holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, as well as Master of Engineering and Bachelor of Civil Engineering both from the National University of Singapore where he graduated with First Class Honours.
