Tareq joined Actis in 2022, as the firm opened its office in Tokyo and extends its footprint in Asia. Tareq will lead the growth of the energy business across North Asia, and is responsible for transaction origination, structuring and execution, as well as investment management.
He has extensive experience acquiring, developing and constructing renewable energy assets.
Tareq was previously at Macquarie Group, where he worked for almost 20 years in both Macquarie Capital and MIRA, and since 2016 was Head of Principal Transactions for Macquarie Capital Japan.
Tareq is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and he has an MA (Hons), Cantab – Mathematics from the University of Cambridge.
