As Chairman of Actis, Torbjorn has responsibility for the overall performance. Torbjorn appoints and chairs the Investment Committees, and recently reached the milestone of 1,000 ICs, having first joined IC in 2002.
Torbjorn was elected Senior Partner (CEO and Chairman) in 2015 and led the firm’s strategic development and growth into a leading global investor in sustainable infrastructure.
He joined Actis in 2002 as the founding partner of the Actis Energy business. Torbjorn provided leadership during a period of significant growth until his election as Senior Partner in 2015.
Before joining Actis, Torbjorn was an entrepreneur and CEO, having previously held positions at ABB for over twelve years in power plant services, sales, development, finance and equity investments.
Torbjorn holds an MSc degree in mechanical engineering from Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden, and an MBA from IMD in Switzerland.
