Careers at Actis
Actis recognises that people capability is a cornerstone to competitive advantage. Our people have diverse backgrounds and skills, and they all share a commitment to investing sustainably in our markets and delivering great returns.
A Career as an Investment Professional
The Associate Programme
The primary route into the firm is through our Associate Programme which allows us to attract high-potential, diverse, junior talent. In turn, this reduces our reliance on lateral hires and the variability inherent in that method of recruitment. Through a structured selection approach, we target those with prior experience with other investment funds, financial institutions and global firms who may be pursuing an MBA or similar. The successful candidates are invited to participate in a 10 week Summer Internship with the intention of securing a full-time Associate position for the following year.
Their prior level of success and expertise is something we build upon by supporting their development in a consistent and structured way. Our Associates are exposed to live deal situations, investment strategies and new projects early on which is also a consistent feature for all other Actis employees. – read more about how we went about creating an impactful remote summer programme in 2020 here.
A Career as a Platform Professional
Our platform professionals provide the springboard for our deal teams and investments to thrive. We nurture outstanding individuals in all roles across HR, Knowledge, Legal, Communications, and global office support teams. Any open roles will be displayed below on our Jobs Board.
Our Candidate Resource Library contains Frequently Asked Questions, our recruitment process explained, Testimonials, and People Stories where those who have joined our firm have written about their experiences.
Inclusion and Diversity
We lead with inclusion at Actis because we recognise it is the best way to attract and retain the best people. There is so much evidence that points to this and for Actis the benefit is clear - it is not only the right thing to do but it’s obvious that having multiple perspectives around the table ensures that every angle is covered in a discussion, that we don’t avoid the tricky subjects, that risks and scenarios are properly considered, that value creation is as creative as it can be and that Actis is an enjoyable, stimulating place to work.
Actis has a team of approximately 300 people operating across 17 offices globally from Mexico City to Seoul. Attracting and retaining the best talent to deliver excellent performance through a diverse base of individuals is a key aspect of future proofing the firm.

Our Talent Team
Actis has invested heavily in creating a pro-active and experienced Talent team. The team established a forum called ‘The Talent Executive’ comprised of investment and non-investment professionals. The forum allows employees across the business to help design and implement talent projects. Central to our talent strategy is a strong performance management framework.
This enables individuals to set SMART performance and development objectives which are reviewed throughout the year. Our performance management philosophy allows each individual to perform to their full potential; drives consistent expectations and experiences across the organisation; identifies and differentiates superior performance and provides a link between business needs and the management of talent.
Central to all successful talent-centric organisations is a strong performance management framework. We have a robust approach to managing performance and developing people and can do this effectively through our bi-annual performance management exercise. This enables individuals to set SMART performance and development objectives which are reviewed throughout the year.
Our Performance Management philosophy allows each individual to perform to their full potential; ‘raise the bar’ thereby driving consistent expectation and experiences across the organization; identify and differentiate superior performance and to provide a link between business needs and the management of talent.
