Liam Smith

Liam joined Actis in 2015. Prior to joining Actis, he spent seven years working in Chile, first for Sinclair Knight Merz, an engineering consultancy firm from 2008 to 2011, and subsequently for Origin Energy, a large international utility, from 2011 to 2015.

In both roles he was responsible for providing technical and commercial advisory, project management and led various due diligences.

Prior to his time in Chile he was located in New Zealand where he worked in both engineering and project development for domestic and emerging markets projects for Sinclair Knight Merz from 2005 to 2007. Through these roles he gained significant development and operational experience with wind, solar, hydro, geothermal and gas technologies.

Liam holds a BE (hons) from New Zealand’s Auckland University, with a major in Mechanical Engineering.
